Cindy Kleinstuber Blevins is a Colorado-based harp teacher and composer of harp music. Although her first love was piano, she went through college on a clarinet performance scholarship. She took up harp as an adult. She is the President of Blevins Instruments, Inc. ( a Colorado corporation which hand-crafts 70 models of fine lever harps.

She has been writing and recording on synthesizers of various kinds since the late 1980’s. “Sunday Morning Carriage Ride” (2nd place, 2012 Instrumental Category) is part of “Suite Central Park” from her CD “Cynda: Out of the Blue.” The music was never written down. It was composed in her head, and then recorded track by track using her Yamaha DX7, a Korg module, and a little Yamaha sequencer with a tiny little screen. Such was the technology of the 80’s.

Her harp music: Cindy is best known for the hundreds (if not thousands) of original harp solos, harp learning materials, harp arrangements, ensembles and recordings she writes and publishes. They can be viewed on her music website (

Her piano work: Cindy has a website devoted to her many piano compositions and arrangements. A huge project in 2003 was to transcribe the complete “Suite Central Park” into a piano solo. This was the first (and only) time the music had ever been written down. “Sunday Morning Carriage Ride” is the 3rd movement of the 19-page piano suite. You can find “Suite Central Park” at

Her songwriting: The song-writing team of Cindy Kleinstuber Blevins (music) and Denise Baxter-Yoder (lyrics) has written two dozen songs as of 2012 and is continually working on more. Their song “Keep Them Safe” won Honorable Mention in a previous Indie International Contest. Her songwriting partner: Denise Baxter-Yoder is ann immensely talented singer/song writer with the Americana group Puddingstone, located in North Carolina. She has expanded her musical directions becoming a founding member of the harp/flute duo, Tapestry. Her collaborations as lyricist with composer Cindy Kleinstuber Blevins is becoming her major focus in the development of new musical projects.
