"Maybe it's just the optimist in me, but I feel sure that if we teach children from the very beginning that there is no time for hate, only love, and WE, the adults model this behavior, we can make a big dent in the bigotry and discrimination that I have seen grow and that I have felt over the past 46 years of my life."
Yes, it sounds "crunchy granola" as my friend, C.D. says. But we have nothing to lose and everything to gain! Spreading good will and good Karma just feels.....well, good. And what goes around comes around.....so won't you join with me?
"No Time For Hate" has just been endorsed by and licensed to Teachers Against Prejudice (www.teachersagainstprejudice.org) as well as A Better Philadelphia, Inc. (www.abetterphiladelphia.org) for their school assembly programs and community workshops, and is also being sold partially as a fundraiser for TAP. "No Time For Hate" has also been licensed to Cheltenham Elementary for their Spring concert, and more licensing is expected. Since it's release 15 weeks ago, "No Time For Hate" has enjoyed 14 weeks in the Broadjam.com Top 10 Children's Genre. It is the feature song of Annie Lynn and Chris Arms' upcoming ep, "NO TIME FOR HATE AND OTHER SONGS FOR SCHOOLS."
This past February, 2008, Annie and one of her writing partners, Jim Burns, finished as 1 of 10 Finalists in the International Acoustic Music Awards for best Country/Bluegrass song, "My Blue Ridge Mountain Skies."
Annie and her 12 year old son, Alexander, were also 1 of 10 Finalists in the 2007 International Acoustic Music Awards, for Best Group/Duo for their song, "That's All There Is."
Children's song "New School," was recently featured on a CD Compilation put out by Indie Music For Life as a fundraiser for pediatric cancer research. This CD was also distributed to pediatric cancer patients in the US. "New School" was also awarded Honorable Mention in the Children's Genre of the Fall, 2007 John Lennon Songwriting Competition.
Annie's music has also been featured on national radio (both children's and adult)cable and network television, as well as in radio commercials, and one fine rodeo in Texas!
Special thanks to my talented and groovy kids choir (the "F Troupe" for friends): Maggie Drossner, Emily Lynn, Dylan Rossin, Emery Schaffer, Andrew Silverman, and Alexander David Wilczewski.
