Danie was born in Sudbury Ontario, but has moved around since the age of 17. She moved to Alberta in 1998 and fell in love with the people and the beauty in this province. She has called Edmonton home now for the last 8 years.
Danie is an artist in several senses of the word. She is a recording artist as well as a visual artist having painted the canvasses of her songs and album covers. This is her second CD. The first one, titled the Journey, was recorded two years ago to positive acclaim. Danie has had several careers throughout her life but always returned to her love of art and music. In 2007, she decided to pursue this love on a full time basis.
Her biggest musical influence was her father. He played guitar with his friends and family, many of whom were talented musicians in their own right. Thus, being influenced by years of music, Danie was instilled with a love for the Arts. In 2007, her father passed away from cancer shortly after the recording of the Journey. She dedicated the album and her art to her father while creating the work and taking care of him in her home.
Her music is a mix of genres, with influences from Country, Blues, Soul and Folk with a Roots feel. If you listen carefully, you might even hear a hint of the Maritimes! Her influences in life are just that – life, people, nature, cities and the world in general. Her musical influences are first and foremost her father Jean Luc Albert, Patsy Cline, Bob Dylan, Melissa Ethridge, & KD Lang to name a few.
“Music and art make me feel alive and creative! There’s nothing I would
rather do with my life. Live life passionately and dare to dream like a
child – the rest will follow!”
WOW! I love this song, and this artist has something that I feel is lost in today's music industry. Like the Bob Dylan's of the world Danie Syre has a strong messages to share.. Love the lyrics, melody, and vocals! Will be checking this artist on iTunes and see what other listening treasures are out there.

I love this song! Great music and lyrics. Your vocals are fantastic, but I think what makes this excellent songwriting is that I can hear this song also being performed by other people in other genres--for example in a harder rock style. Good luck!

This song is so cool, makes me feel good & reminds me of something you'd hear in a Quentin Tarantino film. I could listen to it over and over again!

This is such a "feel good" song. Mellow, hopeful, and dreamy in both melody and lyric. A "leave your worries" behind kinda song at a time when we surely can all use it. Love it!
