Pianist and composer Efraín García was born in Rosario, Argentina, in 1969. He started to study the piano at the age of 13. He studied piano at University of Brasilia (Brasil) under pianist Ney Salgado (third generation of disciples of Franz Liszt) and with Aldo Antognazzi in Buenos Aires. He also studied composition with Luis Mucillo.
Efraín García played in music festivals in Brasil and Argentina. He has won third prize in the 1992 “Cidade de Araçatuba” National Piano Competition (Brasil). Efraín García gave piano recitals in Colombia, Brasil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Germany. In Argentina, he played in cities such as Buenos Aires, Rosario, La Plata, Alta Gracia and Bariloche.
He has made two recordings for the independent label Zurenov Music: “Ensueños” (2003), that sold three thousand copies and was presented in recitals around Argentina and Chile and “Ondina” (2006). In these recordings Efraín García plays his own piano solo compositions. His music was broadcast in different radios as well as in Internet. Actually, he is working on his third piano solo CD.
