Homesick Elephant
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Los Angeles’s husband/ wife duo Homesick Elephant consistently impresses critics with their “devastatingly charming harmonies” (Flagpole Weekly) and “sunny-side up live sets” (Deli Magazine). They have been gaining momentum touring the US and Europe and releasing their latest record “The Pilgrim & the Pen” which features songwriter and composer Kevin Kelly’s string and horn arrangements and “mixes the duo’s introverted K Records sensibilities with massive country-folk skill” (The Philadelphia Citypaper). Listeners tend to fall in love with the whimsically narrative lyrics; but even a casual observer cannot resist the old fashioned charm and sincerity of their live show. Homesick Elephant formed in 2006 before moving from their home in Philadelphia to Los Angeles. They named their band after Ruby, a homesick elephant who was about to “pack her trunk and move to Los Angeles” (so the Google headlines stated) at the same time as the duo.
