In spite of growing up surrounded by cornstalks in the Midwest, Christine Moad always knew that she wanted to be a performer. Her musical career began in the fifth grade when she began playing clarinet in concert band. At the age of twelve, she started playing electric bass and has been hooked ever since.
Throughout her high school career, Christine played shows all over Iowa. At school, she played bass in jazz band as well as pep band. Through the program Weekend Warriors at West Music, she found her true passion – playing rock music. When it was time to decide where to go to college, Christine knew there were no other choice but Berklee College of Music.
In her time at Berklee, Christine has not only excelled in her classes but has kept busy performing all over New England. In the fall of 2010, she formed and led the all-girl rock band Heiress. Under her stage name Miss Christine, she was chosen as one of nine to perform at the annual Berklee Springfest. She has a wide variety of recording experience in and out of the Berklee recording studios. The beginning of 2012 marked the release of Miss Christine’s debut EP, “Monkeyin’ Around.” In the summer of 2012, Christine travelled to the Dominican Republic with Beyond Borders. Beyond Borders is a non-profit organization envisioned and run by Berklee College of Music students, to serve struggling communities and increase local awareness of global issues. Now in her third year, Christine has a jam-packed schedule filled with recording sessions and gigs. She was the house bassist for the Performing Songwriter Showcase and performed alongside the best singer-songwriters at Berklee.
Looking forward to continuing her adventures at Berklee, Christine is a passionate bass player who knows how to groove. Whether you need a bassist for a project, session, or just want to jam, Christine is only a click away. Direct your comments, questions, and inquiries to [email protected]
