Seattle-based singer/songwriter, Justin Froese is known for his collaborative spirit and diverse palate of musical tastes. His mainstream sensibilities combined with ten years of classical music training have resulted in the ability not only to cross genres, but also in many cases, defy them.
Originally from San Diego, Justin has played many of the West Coast’s most storied venues including The Belly Up, The Casbah, and the House of Blues main stage in San Diego; The Roxy, The Mint, Hotel Café, and Room 5 in Los Angeles; and The Columbia City Theater, Conor Byrne Pub, The Tractor Tavern and The Triple Door in Seattle. He’s graced these stages as a solo artist, with his own band, and as a member of collaborator’s groups.
Other artists seek Justin out not only for his versatility, but also for his unique ability to catch their vision and encourage them in ways that they wouldn’t normally push themselves. It was under Justin’s musical direction and visionary guidance alongside bandleader Benjamin Doerr that Seattle band St. Paul de Vence found itself in multiple top 10 charts of local station KEXP for 6 consecutive weeks in 2012. He’s done production work for 2013 Seattle Times Best New Folk Artist Naomi Wachira, for Seattle artist Zach Fleury, and works with songwriters across the country.
One of his most recent collaborations with Nashville-based songwriter, Nancy Montgomery, “Finally Here” won the 2013 Song Door International Songwriting Competition, won in the Christian category of the 2013 Indie International Songwriting Contest, and placed as a finalist in the 2013 USA Songwriting Competition.
Currently, Justin is producing his next full-length album and looks forward to touring the U.S. and Europe, as well as continuing to collaborate with other artists in the coming year.
Justin's music is not only uplifting and inspired; it also happens to be articulate and catchy. Froese is the genuine article!
