Jane Thomason is a singer-songwriter whose delicately crafted songs combine evocative lyrics with intricate and sometimes dramatic guitar playing. Often compared to both Joni Mitchell and John Martyn, she blends elements of acoustic, jazz and classical music.
Jane has been writing stories and playing music since she was four years old. At school she trained in classical violin and piano and sang in choirs and madrigal groups. After studying drama at university Jane wrote, produced and performed plays and performance pieces in the UK and Italy, often including her own original music compositions.
Four years ago Jane embarked on a solo music career writing songs that bring together her story-telling and her intense musicality. She was awarded Semi-Finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest in 2009 for "A Place To Rest" in the Open category and 2010 for "Where You Wanna Go" in the Folk/Country category.
