Award winning, Daniella Watters has been singing since she could talk. She began vocal lessons at age 7, recorded her first song at 11, and by age 13 was touring Canada and the US with her girl pop group Untamed; With whom she played in front of 10,000 screaming fans in Toronto’s Skydome (now Rogers Centre). Her taste in music has evolved and changed over the years and these days Daniella writes R&B with a Soul influence that is infused with inflections of pop, jazz, and Motown flavors.
Now a mainstay of Canada’s prestigious Canadian Music Week, Daniella first entered the competition in 2012 when she won the Street Idol Contest awarded by RDR Music. This gave her the opportunity to get her single "Missing My Love" from her EP placed on several radio stations across the country such as Proud FM 103.9 and CBC.
At Canadian Music Week 2013 Daniella played two sold out shows which were listed as “must see CMW performances” by New Canadian Music. Her shows were also sponsored by the clothing store Fresh Collective and reviewed by Winehouse Magazine, who said her performance was "one of the best R&B shows of CMW."
Daniella's music has been described by Winehouse Magazine as having a sound that "retains the warmth and funk that made neo-soul/R&B take off in the late 90?s but it refrains from the stale vibe that many contemporary singers get stuck in their attempt to recreate that sound." If you like to dance and also be touched by heartfelt ballads then seeing Daniella Watters perform is meant for your ears, eyes, body, and soul. Her most recent original shows were in November of 2013 at Revival where she was featured at Emerge’s One Year Anniversary Show and at Wingspan Music’s Mod Club event, where Daniella won three months of artist development with Coalition Music.
Daniella is currently writing, recording, and self-funding her first solo album. The album has influences of R&B, pop, jazz, soul, and funk combining her love of multiple genres into one cohesive piece of art. The first song Daniella has recorded for her upcoming album, “No One Could Love Me Better”, is produced by Marcus Kane, and she is currently in the midst of recording and co-producing two more of her songs with Nicolas Londono. Her immediate goal is to record a heartfelt album with both touching and danceable tunes along with creative music videos to support them. Her long-term goal is to have the privilege to write and perform music every day and sustain a career with longevity in the music industry. She is a true music hustler and is hitting the ground running towards success in 2014 to make her dreams a reality!
"There are singers and there are people who sing songs. Daniella Watters is a singer through and through. She is one of this country's best kept secrets but not for long"
Joe Wood, RDR Music Group.
