Influenced by 60's to 90's Rock, Pop, Funk, Soul, Reggae, and R&B, and passionate about music performance and the art of song writing, Roxanne, a Canadian-born artist currently based in Ottawa, Ontario, has always had a love for all music genres, sounds, and styles, and artistic production.
Developing her impressive vocal skills as a chorister and solo vocalist in renowned classical Canadian-based art programs, she has, since the beginning of her early music career been a fearless performer singing for diverse events on various prestigious stages including North America's Own Ottawa National Arts Center and New York's Carnegie Hall with various elite vocal ensembles.
In 2010, Roxanne looked to broaden her repertoire beyond her original roots, classical music, and opera, and joined local groups specializing in the genre of Soca, Reggae, and African music. In 2011, she became the leading lady for Berekete Band and Afrodiction, a 13 piece Ottawa based Afrobeat band covering the politically charged music of the revolutionary Fela Kuti. Fond of Afrobeat's combination of traditional Yoruba music, Jazz, Psychedelic Rock, Highlife and Funk, Roxanne performed as a back-up and solo vocalist, hand percussionist and dancer as a resident artist at Ottawa's upscale night club, The Mercury Lounge.

During her first year with Nile Groove, she wrote her first Lovers Rock Reggae and R&B songs, a compilation of 11 tracks for her first debut album "Uncovered". Fusing her favorite sounds and styles of past and current Rock, Pop, Funk, and Soul Music with Reggae, and R&B, Roxanne created her own personal signature sound.
