Fort Vine is an Indie Rock band based in NYC. They are best known for their introspective and thought-provoking lyrics, sweeping harmonies and catchy melodies. Fort Vine's front man, Trevor Tunison, grew up in the great wilderness of the Catskill Mountains, in Upstate NY. He is the middle child in a very artistic family, and spent most of his childhood surrounded by endless creativity. The band's leading lady, Nyna Nelson, hails from Eastern Washington, where she spent most of her young life performing in one way or another. Like Tunison, Nelson grew up surrounded by nature, where she developed an affinity for building forts. When she moved to NYC, she met Tunison serendipitously upon moving in to the same apartment he lived in. It was only a matter of time before they discovered they shared a love of writing music, and a love of nature. Together they built a secret fort in upper Manhattan by the Hudson River. This place still exists. It is called Fort Vine.
Fort Vine's drummer, Luke Markham, went to college with Tunison, where they played in a band called Little Do I Know. After Markham moved to the city in 2012, Fort Vine began to take shape. Their bass guitarist, Kenny Johnson, joined the band in 2013 after moving from LA.
