Missing You

by Mark Wayne Glasmire

Genre: Folk/Acoustic

Missing You

Often late at night
In the quiet and the darkness of my room
Memories unveil
Like a curio of family heirlooms
My heart holds the key
To those memories
And I will always be
Missing you

When I was a child
You did your very best to teach me right from wrong
Sometimes I would fall
But you showed me how to stand up and be strong
Sometimes you held my hand
Taught me to be a man
That is why I am
Missing you

Lessons to be learned
Mountains still to climb
You encouraged me to dream
And reach to touch the sky

Now that you are gone
There are so many things I wish I would have said
Like how much I love you
And a million more things running through my head
So many tears I’ve cried
Never got to say goodbye
And so I’ll spend my life
Missing you
