Contests. Resources. Community.
From aspiring songwriters to seasoned professionals, you can count on Indie International to help take your songwriting up an octave (to the next level).
What started in 2008 as the first “completely online” songwriting contest, has steadily grown into a network and community of independent songwriters throughout the world.
Meet the NEW Indie International:
In 2020, we turned-up the volume – expanding our offerings and strengthening our songwriting community.
We have re-designed and re-imagined this website to be even more of an online community and resource for songwriters. Songwriters can share their bios, post songs, engage in songwriting related forums, give each other feedback and encouragement. On the new site, songwriters will find opportunities to network, promote their music and improve their craft. In addition to songwriting related blog posts, resources and tips, interviews with independent songwriters, and some of the best indie songs from around the world.
We continue to provide songwriting contests that people actually win.
(no popularity contests here). We put our time and resources on making sure all songs entered are carefully listened to, songwriters are “anonymous” to judges during the judging process, but songwriters will know who judged their genre – and have options to get individual 1-1 coaching from professional songwriters after the contest as well.
Small, but Mighty.
Our contests are still “small but mighty” with hundreds of songs entered in each contest (not thousands or tens of thousands). It’s nothing against the bigger contests . . . but we prefer to continue to be small enough to stay connected to each songwriter who enters, support their songwriting growth. Instead of big cash prizes, celebrity judges, and promises of stardom – we put our resources into thorough constructive feedback from professional songwriters and songwriting coaches, carefully curated prizes of songwriting related tools and services, free resources, plus online profiles for songwriters and membership into our online songwriter community.
Our “North star” remains the same.
Since its inception in 2008, the Indie International Songwriting Contest has provided useful critiques and reviews for thousands of musicians. Helping and encouraging songwriters was the main purpose for the founders, and that mission continues to this day. Indie International Songwriting Network (IISN) and Indie International Songwriting Contest (IISC) is owned and operated by Radical Owl, LLC based out of Portland, OR USA.
Even though we are based out of the US, we are truly an international songwriting contest boasting contestants in over 55 countries!
