Singer/songwriter/guitarist Abrie (Aah-bree) has been writing and performing for several years in both his native South Africa and in Australia, since immigrating in 2000.
Abrie’s style is not genre specific, as portrayed in his diversity as both a solo artist and in bands such as energetic Sydney rock outfit, Timeslave. Armed with emotive and insightful lyrics, strong guitar driven melodies and a unique and powerful voice, Abrie delivers his songs with depth and sensitivity, honesty and conviction.
Abrie recorded his debut 4 track acoustic EP, “Waiting for the light”, at the Grove studios on the Central Coast in May 2006, produced and engineered by Andy Sorenson. Songs from this EP have enjoyed TV airplay on the Laugh Garage Comedy club’s “Dazz & Gazz’s Radio show on TV”, as well as radio airplay on a number of radio stations around Australia.
