Eric’s passion lies firmly in the songwriting and performance of his own music. His sound, hard to sum up in a few words or with a single genre or label; draws on folk, blues, rock and R&B yet is Americana without sounding typical. He’s been described as having the soft vocal timbre of Ray LaMontagne, the natural raspyness of Rod Stewart and when needed can be infused with the high driving vocal delivery of Janis Joplin or Robert Plant.
When he’s playing guitar it’s hard to miss the finger style influences such as Leo Kottke, Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel; and the intense lilt of electric guitar heroes such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.
All these influences combine in his thoughtful and thought-evoking songwriting for a truly unique experience.
Eric got his start in Portland Maine but now lives in Austin Texas, the “Live Music Capital of the World”.
Since 2009 he has independently released three full length albums and two EPs; often doing the engineering and producing. His third album, Secret Songs For Secret People, was met with rave reviews in the North-East region and earned him a Pandora Station and steady of local FM radio play.
The next album, An Underwater Dream, will be out in Spring 2014.
