Bio | J.W. McClure lives in Stanwood, Washington, writing songs and humor. His songs ‘Blue Star Mountain Cowboy’, ‘Blue’, ‘The Reaper’ and ‘End of The Day’ have all made the finals of the International Acoustic Music Awards IAMA. His songs ‘Need A Lazy Woman’, ‘Living Off Of My Friends’ and ‘Pig’ have all been finalists in the USA songwriting contest. J.W. was also twice a finalist in the early Washington D.C. Songwriter events (for three songs-satire, country, gospel). He was a regular opening act for nationally known performers at Washington D.C’s infamous Childe Harold and the celebrated Cellar Door in the late ’70’s. J.W. McClure opened on those stages for Tom Paxton, Dave Van Ronk, Tom Rush, and many others. After a long hiatus from music, hes back. His love of humor and old jazz has influenced his delivery and writing. His own songs are recognizable, catchy, with poetic and/or satirical lyrics. |
