There’s no stopping Joel Plaskett. Every step he takes is a step in the right direction with his record breaking six 2008 East Coast Music Award wins, a Juno nomination for Songwriter of the Year and his recent Billboard Song Contest win is just more evidence that he’s on solid creative ground. A formidable singer/songwriter, Joel has an innate ability to speak to the human experience without pretence. His music and lyrics reveal a balance of sincerity and sophistication, deep integrity and unerring instincts. Joel has captured the imagination of the public with his cross-generational, genre-bending gift to speak to the complexities and commonalities of life.

Not only an award winning recording artist, Joel is also a critically acknowledged master of performance. Joel and his band continue to tour throughout Canada, the US and Australia.

Even with touring plans for the Joel and the Emergency that extend through 2008, Joel is again looking at a return to the studio in the spring. Another solo endeavour? Another Emergency project? Whatever surprise Joel has in store – we can’t wait.
