Phil Norman is an active performer in Boulder, CO. He is constantly trying to expand the cello’s possibilities in all forms of music. He currently performs with One Eye Glass Broken.
Phil started playing cello at the age of 10. Since then he has studied with Yali Sun, Mary Beadell-DiBartolo, and currently studies with Judith Glyde. He has performed in the United States, Australia, and Italy, and has shared the stage with David Hardy of the National Symphony Orchestra, and Carter Pann, as well as guest appearances with bands such as Elephant Revival, Down with Naked and Funkiphino. An active member of the Pendulum New Music series at University of Colorado, Phil has played world premieres of Curtis Peel’s solo cello piece, The Sawtooth Conversion, Ryan Spencer’s This Quiet with Carter Pann, and Beth Ratay’s Die Sonate an Orpheus, among others.
