Bio

Broken Promise Keeper is all about Power Pop — three-minute songs that are catchy, upbeat, and fun. Little sugar-coated sonic grendades that rot your teeth and make you sing along, tap your toes, or drive a little faster.

The band is the studio project of Rob Stuart, a Decatur, GA based musician who was part of the NC “jangle pop” scene of the mid 1980s. He was in a band named 1+2 that recorded a few records for the Homestead label and toured the Southeast, opening for acts like the Hoodoo Gurus, the Replacements, and Alex Chilton.

After graduating from UNC, Stuart moved to Atlanta, got a job, got married, built a career, and had kids, but never forgot his love of music. In 2007, he began making original music again, spurred on by the annual “RPM Challenge” to record ten songs of new tunes each February. In 2008, his RPM album included guest appearances on nearly every song from former bandmates, other musical friends, and even his two sons. Both records are available thru iTunes, CD Baby, and other sources.

The song “Look Out Hollywood” was originally written in the late 1990s, and was re-recorded in June of 2008 for the Indie International competition.
