I listened to a lot of Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones as a kid, and later, Tom Waits. Their music led me to a lot of other musicians, including Robert Johnson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Little Walter, and more.
I later bought an acoustic guitar and a harmonica and started working on my own songs. Over the past twenty plus years, I’ve had the good fortune to have some of my songs and/or lyrics recognized in national and international songwriting competitions, and (for a few years running), two of my recorded tracks–one original and one cover–were played regularly on national satellite radio, via SiriusXM’s program The Coffeehouse. Most recently, our oldest son, an aspiring drummer, has begun playing with me at live shows. The two songs posted here (demos only) will be on my next CD release, a collection of about a dozen new originals, which I recently recorded in Seattle. All my previous releases are available here:
