Despite living a quiet life in the rural upper midwest, Roy Schroedl is influenced by a larger world. He has lived in Germany, traveling to many European countries while there. Two trips to New Zealand and Canada, along with another to Australia round out the international travel. He has also seen most of the lower 48 and Hawaii. His twelve-string guitar always makes the journey. Roy plays mostly solo gigs in the tri-state area of Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois. He also plays mandolin and the djembe while playing with the acoustic rock duo Okham’s Razor. His duo-mate plays 6-string and harmonica and they sing, sing, sing.
Whether solo or duo, influences include The Beatles, REM, Jethro Tull, Dave Matthews and many others. It’s a combination of folk, pop and Americana. Roy describes it as acoustic rock.
