Canadian born Sarah Fisher is a classically trained singer, songwriter, actress and model.
Throughout her childhood and teens, she performed extensively in choirs, musical theatre, festivals, recitals and competitions. She sings in many varied genres of music including pop, opera, jazz and musical theatre. Sarah is classically trained by Kim Briggs, and has also worked with Elaine Overholt for the past seven years to enhance her natural talent and perfect her vocal range and performance technique.
Sarahs desire to learn and broaden her scope on stage led her to try acting and after four months of classes, she joined the cast of the critically acclaimed show Degrassi. Sarah is now in her third season as a series regular playing the role of Becky Baker. Degrassi has featured her singing on the show and will be using two of her original songs in the upcoming season. During the 2013 Degrassi summer hiatus, Sarah played a lead role in the movie Lost After Dark, a horror feature film currently in post-production.
Sarah is dedicated to helping other young people achieve their potential. In 2013, she established a program for youth called True2U, visiting high schools where she talks with students about being fearless and trying new things to discover their true passion in life. Her True2U presentation is followed by a performance of her original music. Recognizing that Sarah is a role model for youth, Kids Help Phone made Sarah their National Celebrity Spokesperson in 2013 to help them reach the youth market through print, TV and digital media to ensure that young people across Canada are aware of this important resource.
Youth Day Global 2014 has invited Sarah to be their ambassador, host and featured performer for the Toronto Youth Day on July 20th at Dundas Square. She will also appear via internet in the cities around the world hosting Youth Day events throughout 2014 and 2015.
