Darker Thoughts

The ghost of generations,
she walks on through my open mind
And when she’s through that door,
well she…she closes it behind

And it always leaves me scrambling,
in the darker parts to which I am inclined

When thoughts get to churning
They’ll always succeed
But if the milk was sour
Than they’re dead before they flower

– But sometimes plants in toxic soils,
Survive and give us something unforeseen.

Watch as these little seedlings,
who are all growing in the dark.
They hope that they’re reaching in better directions
Oh they’ll follow along all the shadows inflections
Just risk it, this journey my dears.

Cause times get to going, and going they’re gone
While stuck up in the dark, I forget to get going along
And we can ponder and ponder and ponder, with our minds all set to wander
But by the morning light, what’s left undone still gets covered in dew.

And we can ponder and ponder and ponder, with our minds all set to wander
But by the morning light, what’s left undone still gets covered in dew. Doo doo doo

The ghost of generations,
she walks on through my open mind
And when she’s through that door,
well she…she closes it behind

And it always leaves me scrambling,
in the darker parts to which I am inclined
