Lyrics

É catimbeiro aposta no amor
Que vingou
São Raimundo dos Mulundus
Milagreiro
Ê santo vaqueiro
Meu irmão Jesus
São Raimundo dos Mulundus
Milagreiro
Ê santo vaqueiro
Me alivia a cruz

Glossário:

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

Santo Milagreiro – São Raimundo dos Mulundus
Miracle-worker Saint – Saint Raymond of Mulundus

Who is a pilgrim is surely a road roamer

barefooted on the ground

With the the candle in their hands

they come from Iguará lands

and in a flash of profound inspiration

for the holy sign of cross in Paulica sanctuary

When carrying the ornated bier, the pain soon disappear

Is crafty, always betting on Love

And always won

Saint Raymond of Mulundus, Miracle worker

Is a herdsman saint

My brother Jesus

Saint Raymond of Mulundus, Miracle worker

Is a herdsman saint

Relieves the weight of the cross

This lyrics depicts the religious festivities honoring Saint Raymond, and it happens in my hometown, Vargem Grande, state of Maranhão.

The weird fact about this celebration is that the official Saint celebrated by the Catholic church is Saint Raymond Nonato, but for the local people, the owner of the party is the herdsman Raymond, Born in Mulundus and worshiped by the crowd as a Saint.

Glossary:
